It's raining here at the moment - funny that - it's Toowoomba, so that's really quite normal. I'm working at the cafe until 3 today, Darren heads off to the coast this arvo for a Rotary convention and Benjamin has band prac. then basketball tonight. So at this stage I think I'm 'batching'....for tonight anyway. Have just heard that a friend has, this morning, found out his cancer has spread and that there is nothing more that can really be done for him. The irony is that he is going to be worth millions of dollars shortly - a project he's been working on for almost 18 years is about to finally be realised. He's a very thoughtful fella, always helping people out - just an allround decent bloke. His wife has cancer also and they will have been married 25 years at the end of this month.
Things like this make you really thankful for what you have, who you have and where you are in life. Life's not meant to be perfect - and mine definitely isn't. I don't own a home and I'm not a millionaire but I do have a great job, a great family and at this moment, I have my health. That's perfect enough for me....
